Nolan James Arenado (born April 16, 1991 in Newport Beach , California ) is an American baseball player in Major League Baseball (MLB). He has been a third baseman with the Colorado Rockies since 2013 .

life and career

Nolan Arenado was born in Newport Beach , California , in April 1991 . His father is Fernando Arenado and has his roots in Cuba , his mother, Millie Arenado, was a former pitcher and comes from Puerto Rico . Arenado has an older brother, Fernando Jr., who plays baseball as a pastime, and a younger brother, Jonah Arenado, who is also a third baseman on the San Francisco Giants A-team . Nolan Arenado attended El Toro High School in Lake Forest in southern California. There he also went to the school's baseball team. While on the team he met Austin Romine, who now plays for the New York Yankees . Arenado had number 12 on the team. As coach Mike Gonzales said:

In 2008, Arenado high school won the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF), a school baseball competition in California. The Los Angeles Times named him the team's All-Star for having a batting average of .456, 32 runs batted in and 33 runs . Arenado got a recommendation from trainer Gonzales to attend Arizona State University on a baseball scholarship. He left university in 2013 because he wanted to play professionally. So he moved to the Colorado Rockies.

2013-2014
