description

Nolana aplocaryoides is an upright or prostrate , annual , herbaceous plant , only rarely does it grow as a subshrub . It reaches heights of growth of 5 to 120 cm. The branches are leafy and sticky-slimy hairy. The leaves are in clusters, are succulent and are 0.3 to 1.3 cm (rarely up to 2 cm) long and are inverted ovoid to linear-spatulate. The leaf margin is bent back to strongly bent back.

The flowers are solitary and perched in the armpits. The calyx is 4 to 5 mm long, cup-shaped and enlarges on the fruit. It divides into five teeth, the teeth are irregular, upright and lanceolate and about half the length of the entire calyx. The crown is white to blue in color, funnel-shaped and 1.3 to 2.7 cm long. The stamens are divided into two long and three short ones, or all stamens are of different lengths. The stamens are not widened at the base and are rarely hairy. The flower base is crater-shaped deeply creased. The stylus is about as long as the stamens and stands on the ovary bulge. The scar is cephalic or lobed.

The fruit consists of five dry partial fruits, of which two or rarely more are only stunted.
