Nomi ( Japanese 能 美 市 , -shi ) is a city in the Japanese prefecture of Ishikawa .

Nomi is northeast of Fukui and southwest of Kanazawa on the Sea of Japan .
history
Nomi was created on February 1, 2005 through the merger of the communities of Neagari ( 根 上 町 , -machi ), Tatsunokuchi ( 辰 口 町 , -machi ) and Terai ( 寺 井 町 , -machi ) of the district of Nomi .
