Nonka Matowa Detschewa ( Bulgarian Нонка Матова Дечева ; born October 20, 1954 in Plovdiv as Nonka Detschewa ) is a former Bulgarian sports shooter and politician .

Nonka Matowa took part in six Olympic Games : In 1976 , she finished eleventh in Montreal with the small-bore rifle in the three-position battle. Four years later she was sixth in this competition in Moscow and seventh in the horizontal position. At the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul , she reached twelfth place with the air rifle, while she was eleventh with the small bore rifle in the three-position fight. In 1992 she reached the finals in Barcelona with the small bore rifle in a three-position battle with 584 points. In this she scored a further 98.7 points and finished second with a total of 682.7 points behind Launi Meili , so she received the silver medal. In 1996 in Atlanta and 2000 in Sydney , she did not get past 20th or 36th place with the air rifle. With the small-bore rifle, she made it to the finals again in 1996, in which she finished sixth with 678.8. In 2000 she finished the competition in 14th place.
1985 Nonka Matowa became world champion with the air rifle team in Mexico City . The following year, she secured the title of team competition in the three-position battle with the small-bore rifle in Suhl , and she also took second place in the prone position in the individual and with the team. In 1987 in Budapest and 1989 in Sarajevo , she won titles in the team competition with the air rifle, in 1989 she also won bronze in the individual. In 1990 in Moscow she won another team title in a three-position battle with the small-bore rifle. In the prone stop, she and the team again secured silver. Matowa won two bronze medals in Barcelona in 1998 in the individual and team competition with the small-bore rifle in the three-position fight.
From 2001 to 2005 she was a member of the NDSW in the Bulgarian Parliament . Matowa was a police officer from 1979 and was promoted to major general in 2003 . In 2010 she became an honorary citizen of her native Plovdiv.
