Nora Pröfrock
Nora Pröfrock (* 1981 in Duisburg ) is a German translator . She translates from Norwegian , Swedish , English and Danish .
Life
Nora Pröfrock studied Scandinavian Studies , Comparative Literature and English Studies in Bonn , Trondheim and Bergen from 2001 to 2007 . She graduated with a Magistra Artium . From 2004 to 2007 he studied German as a foreign language at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn .
Pröfrock then worked for two years in Bonn as a freelance specialist translator and lecturer for German as a foreign language, before teaching Norwegian at the Volkshochschule Rhein-Sieg from 2009 to 2010. After completing a postgraduate course in literary translation from English at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich , she has been working as a freelance literary translator since September 2011. She translates fiction, children's and youth literature as well as non-fiction books.
She is a member of the Association of German-Language Translators of Literary and Scientific Works , VdÜ, and the Norwegian Association of Authors and Translators for Non-Fiction.
Pröfrock lives in Bergen, Norway.
