Research methodological position

Under the direction of Norbert Huppertz, the partial-holistic theory-building concept was developed in 1985/86 at the Freiburg University of Education as part of several research projects. The partial holism (Latin .: pars and Greek .: holon "part of" "the whole") is the study of the observation and study of the details (partial) without its connection to his whole (holistic) ignored to let. The partial-holistic position is characterized by the fact that social problems are treated as such, but are also considered in their social and global connection. The partial-holistic approach takes into account important findings from already existing research lines ( phenomenology , hermeneutics , empiricism , dialectics , action research, etc.). In its implementation, this thinking and research position has a distinctive requirement profile and requires a high level of practical relevance. In social practice, working with this research position means: seeing this and the individual, but always considering the social whole.

The aim of partial-holistic research: to overcome the gap between theory and practice and thus to develop a comprehensive theory.

Kindergarten and pre-school education

Norbert Huppertz founded the life-related approach in 1990. The origin of the life-related approach is based on the knowledge that already existing approaches and kindergarten concepts are not sufficiently structured with regard to a well-founded education in early childhood education . The life-related approach is an early childhood educational approach that focuses on the child's life and learning. This means that through the value-related upbringing and education goals, the child arrives at the following attitudes for his present and future life:

  • Global citizenship (earth and world belong to everyone)
  • Nature and environmental awareness (appreciate and protect nature and the environment = ecological education)
  • Ability to be at peace (enjoyable relationships and reconciliation towards others)
  • View of the whole
  • Experience in reality (no excessive use of media)

The life-related approach has been tested in numerous facilities and evaluated several times.

The life-related approach is based on partial holism as a scientific basis .
