The Norderoog class is one of six multi-purpose container ship comprehensive, ship class in Leer -based shipping company Briese shipping , where the ships in the long term to the subsidiary BBC Chartering were chartered. The type ship Norderoog was completed in 2006, the last ship in the series, the Wybelsum followed in 2008.
Technical specifications
The ships have a deadweight capacity of around 16,921 dwt with a maximum draft of 9.90 m. The 13,560 kW payable MAN - diesel engine provides a maximum speed of 19.5 knots. All ships were named after northern German towns and regions and are classified by Germanischer Lloyd . The ships are built in China . The Norderoog , Süderoog , Hooge and Wybelsum fly the flag of Antigua & Barbuda , while the Langeness and the Petkum fly the flag of Gibraltar .

The ships belong to Briese Schiffahrt GmbH & Co. KG and are chartered to the subsidiary BBC Chartering & Logistic GmbH & Co. KG, which is also based in Leer. However, they are with different shipping companies, such as B. CMA CGM , Maersk Line or MSC in time charter. The ships are used in liner service as feeder ships in the Mediterranean Sea as well as the North and Baltic Seas.
