Noureddine "Nordin" Amrabat ( Arabic نور الدين أمرابط, DMG Nūr ad-Dīn Amrābaṭ ; * March 31, 1987 in Naarden ) is a Dutch - Moroccan football player . He is currently under contract with Al-Nasr , in the Saudi city of Riyadh , and plays for the Moroccan national soccer team
Player career
Club career
Amrabat played for SV Huizen in his youth . In 2006 he became a professional at the Dutch second division club FC Omniworld , for which he scored 14 goals in 36 games. Then he moved to the first division promoted VVV Venlo . Right away he also prevailed in the honor division and was successful ten times in 33 games.
In the summer of 2008, numerous first division clubs competed for the talented striker's favor, and finally he decided on the Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven . Amrabat scored his first goal for PSV Eindhoven in his first outing, on August 30th in a 5-1 away win over FC Utrecht . In the winter of 2011, he moved to the Turkish first division club Kayserispor and initially received a contract until 2015.
Galatasaray Istanbul signed him in July 2012 . In his first season with Galatasaray, Amrabat became Turkish champion and Turkish Supercup winner. At the end of January 2014, Amrabat went on loan to FC Málaga for the second half of the season . At the end of the season he returned to Galatasaray and took part in the pre-season preparatory camp. Towards the end of the 2014 summer transfer period, he was loaned out again to Malaga FC for one season. At the end of the 2014/15 season, Málaga CF took advantage of an option to purchase Amrabat. On January 18, 2016, he moved to the English first division club Watford FC for a transfer . For the 2017/18 season it was awarded to CD Leganés in Spain .
In July 2018, Amrabat signed a three-year contract with the Saudi Arabian first division club al-Nasr . A year later he won the national championship with the Riyadh club .
National team
Amrabat appeared in seven games for the Dutch U-21 national team. In 2011 he was part of the extended squad of the Moroccan national team, trained by the Belgian Eric Gerets , for the African Cup of Nations games . He played with Morocco in the 2012 and 2013 Africa Cups . He was also in Morocco's squad for the 2018 World Cup . After two 0-1 defeats, against Portugal and Iran , and a 2-2 draw against Spain , Morocco was the last in Group B to be eliminated from the tournament. Amrabat was used in all three games.
