North Hertfordshire is a district in the county of Hertfordshire in England . The administrative seat is in Letchworth Garden City ; other important places are Baldock , Hitchin , Royston and St Ippolyts .
The district was formed on April 1, 1974 and was formed from the merger of the towns of Baldock, Hitchin, Letchworth and Royston and the Rural District Hitchin.
