Noues d'Amance ( pluraletantum ) is a river in France , in the Grand Est region , which changes its name several times on its way. It rises as Ruisseau de Villemaheu , is called in the middle part Ruisseau de Chantecoq and Les Noues d'Amance and then in the mouth section Fossé Rouge .

course

The river has its source in the local area of Fuligny , in the Aube department . It generally drains in a northerly direction through an area rich in lakes and reaches the Haute-Marne department at Les Sapins , municipality of Épothémont , the borderline of which it forms over a distance of about four kilometers. Then it enters the Forêt d'Orient Regional Nature Park and finally meets the river Laines , which runs parallel to it at a short distance and into which it then after a total of around 19 kilometers in the north-eastern municipality of Vallentigny , opposite the town of Boulancourt , as a left tributary joins.

In the middle course of the river, southwest of La Ville-aux-Bois , in the Forêt de Soulaines , the river runs along the Center de stockage de l'Aube , a nuclear waste repository.
