The Nova Scotia Highway 111 is a highway in the Halifax Regional Municipality in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia . It connects the two communities of Halifax and Dartmouth and is part of the Canadian National Highway System . Since 2007 he has also been nicknamed the Highway of Heroes .

The highway begins in Halifax as a junction of Highway 102 . It leads in a northerly direction and crosses the port of Halifax with the A. Murray MacKay Bridge , the use of the bridge is subject to a toll. The route continues in a north-easterly direction and then turns back to the south. Highway 118 crosses at the northernmost point , from there you can get to Halifax Stanfield International Airport , which is one of the largest in Canada. Once back at the port of Halifax, the fully expanded four-lane highway ends at Trunk Highway 7 .
