The Highway 125 is the northern section of the Trans-Canada Highway in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia . It has a length of 142 kilometers and runs entirely on the Cape Breton Iceland .

Route

The route begins in the south of Cape Breton Island as a junction from Highway 104 , which is also part of the Trans-Canada Highway System on its western section. The route runs through Port Hastings to the northeast. At Whycocomagh , the highway meets Bras d'Or Lake , which then runs largely along the northeastern shore of the lake to the Seal Island Bridge. There the highway crosses one of the natural channels that connect the lake to the Atlantic Ocean . The highway then heads east past Florance and Sidney Mines to end in North Sydney . There is then a connection to the island of Newfoundland at the ferry terminal there .
