Ontario Highway 7
The Ontario Highway 7 is a highway in the Canadian province of Ontario and consists of two sections with a total length of 536 km. The section between Guelph and Kitchener and between Peterborough and Ottawa is part of the National Highway System , the section east of Orillia is part of the Trans-Canada Highway .
Routing
Western section
The western section begins at Elginfield and leads in an easterly direction, the route has two lanes. In Stratford , Highway 8 joins you route and leads together to Kitchener , the route east from New Hamburg to Kitchener is four lanes and has no intersections. The route continues via Guelph to Georgetown . The section between Kitchener and Guelph is to be expanded as a freeway after 2021. When it reaches the town limit of Brampton near Norval , the highway ends and was downgraded to 107 Peel Regional Road .
Eastern section
Highway 7 starts again at the eastern city limits of Brampton. It runs parallel to Highway 407 , which was built to relieve Highway 7. There are several connection points to this freeway. At Brooklin , Highway 7 leaves the parallel route and heads north together with Highway 12 . North of Port Perry , Highway 7 and 12 separate, from there Highway 7 is part of the Trans-Canada Highway network and leads eastwards past Peterborough again . West of Ottawa , the route meets and ends on Highway 417 .
