Novi Fosili

Novi Fosili are a Yugoslav and Croatian music group.

The group was founded in 1969 and had their first success in 1976 after being invited to the festival in Split . The song Diridonda , presented there , became a hit in the former Yugoslavia. Rajko Dujmić, the composer who joined in 1976, turned out to be a stroke of luck for the group, which celebrated successes at many national festivals.

Novi Fosili became one of the most popular groups in the region and received many awards. You have been named Group of the Year for a number of years. They released 15 singles and 6 LPs during this period, some of which became hits.

A variety of tours followed nationally, as well as in the former USSR, the USA, Canada and some European countries.

In 1983 the group's singer, Đurđica Barlović, was replaced by the younger singer Sanja Doležal. Many hits were also produced with the new line-up. In 1986 they celebrated a success at the Dresden Festival, where they got 3rd place on the jury.

In 1987 the group represented Yugoslavia at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song Ja sam za ples and reached 4th place. The single was released in 9 European countries.

In October 2001, the group announced it was breaking up and reuniting in 2005. Both Sanja Doležal and Vladimir Kočiš-Zec can be found in the new-old composition. In this composition they produce the album "Za dobra stara vremena" ("To the good old days"). The song of the same name is one of their biggest hits in Croatia.
