Novyj Wytkiw ( Ukrainian Новий Витків ; Russian Новый Витков Nowy Witkow , Polish Witków Nowy ) is a village in the Ukrainian Lviv Oblast in western Ukraine with about 1200 inhabitants.
The village is located in the western part of the historic landscape of Galicia in Radekhiv Raion on the river Wilyj Stik (Білий Стік), about 12 kilometers west of Rajonzentrum Radekhiv and 63 kilometers northeast of Oblastzentrum Lviv removed.
It is the only place that forms the district council of the same name Nowyj Wytkiw .
The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1469, received Magdeburg city charter in the 15th century , was initially in the aristocratic republic of Poland-Lithuania , Bełz Voivodeship , and in 1772 came as Witkow to the then Austrian crown land of Galicia (until 1918 then with the status of Market in the Radziechów District ).
After the end of World War I the place came to Poland was in 1921 here as Witków Nowy in the province Tarnopol , Powiat Radekhiv , Gmina Witków Nowy incorporated and was in World War II until the Soviet Union and from 1941 to 1944 by Germany occupied and the District of Galicia attached. After being reconquered by Soviet troops in 1944, it came back to the Soviet Union in 1945 and was incorporated into the Ukrainian SSR , since 1991 the place has been part of today's Ukraine. Under Soviet rule, the market status was revoked in 1939 and downgraded to a village.
