Ntabankulu ( English Ntabankulu Local Municipality ) is a local municipality in the Alfred Nzo district of the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa . The seat of the community is in Ntabankulu . Mayor is Priscilla Tsileng Sobuthongo.

The name comes from the isiXhosa and means "big mountain" because the municipality is characterized by mountain ranges. In 2011 the community came from the OR Tambo district to the Alfred Nzo district.

In 2011 the community had 123,976 inhabitants. 99.4% of them were black. First language was 95.1% IsiXhosa and 1.4% English.
