The Num Ri is a six-thousander in the Khumbu region in Nepal .

It is adjacent to the Island Peak , but compared to this it is technically much more demanding and has only been climbed once. Other mountains in the neighborhood are Cho Polu and Baruntse .

The Num Ri has a long ridge that culminates in a pyramid-like summit in an easterly direction. It is occupied with numerous slope glaciers .

The first ascent was made on November 7, 2002 by the Leipzig mountaineers Olaf Rieck , Lydia Schubert and Carsten Schmidt .
