Nyimasata Sanneh-Bojang

Nyimasata Sanneh-Bojang (* 1941 in Brufut ; † July 15, 2015 ) ( first name also written as "Nyima Sata" ) was a politician and minister in the West African state of Gambia .

From 1980, the former teacher worked for the People's Progressive Party (PPP) in the women's affairs office. She also stood in the 1982 general election , as the only woman in the election, for the West Coast Region Kombo North District , which she won. In Parliament she was then on the Parliamentary secretary for education . In the parliamentary elections in 1987 she was able to win the district, but was not put up for election in the parliamentary elections in 1992 .

By the military junta Armed Forces Provisional Ruling Council (AFPRC), which she joined, she was in November 1995 as the successor of Coumba Ceesay-Marenah Minister for Health and Family ( Secretary of State for Health, Social Welfare and Women's Affairs appointed). However, she did not stay in office for long and handed it over to Isatou Njie Saidy in July 1997 after eight months .

After the 2002 general election , she was appointed as a member of parliament. In June 2006 she was sent by the National Assembly as a member of the Parliament of the West African Economic Community (ECOWAS). She succeeded Duta Kamaso , who had been expelled from the Gambian National Assembly.

From 2006 to 2009 she was a member of the board of the women's rights organization GAMCOTRAP .

In 2007 she appeared as a high functionary ( Administrative Secretary ) of the Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation and Construction (APRC) party.
