The Brandenburg Higher Regional Court is the only higher regional court in the state of Brandenburg .

Seat and District of the Court

The seat of the court is Brandenburg an der Havel ; its judicial district is identical to the area of ​​the state of Brandenburg.

At the Higher Regional Court are 2,323 lawyers and general counsel attorneys admitted (as at 1st January 2018).

As with every higher regional court, the higher regional court of Brandenburg has only the higher regional court.

The four regional courts of the district in Cottbus , Frankfurt (Oder) , Neuruppin and Potsdam as well as the 25 district courts subordinate to these courts are subordinate to the Brandenburg Higher Regional Court .

The Brandenburg Higher Regional Court was set up after the State of Brandenburg joined the Federal Republic of Germany and began its work on December 1, 1993 with its seat in the city of Brandenburg an der Havel , where the Schöppenstuhl of the Electorate of Brandenburg, first mentioned in 1232 until 1817, was located.
