Oberbergern is a village and cadastral municipality in the municipality of Bergern in the Dunkelsteinerwald in Lower Austria.

geography

The village is located southwest of Unterbergern in the valley of the Halterbach and lies on the state road L109. On January 1, 2020, the village had 297 inhabitants. The Mainau mill stands outside the village. In the Franziszeischen cadastre from 1821 Oberbergern is recorded as a cluster village with numerous farmsteads.

Local chapel

The local chapel is a rectangular building with a retracted apse in the center, which was built in 1763 by Johann Schwerdtfeger. The simple altar dates from the 19th century. In baroque forms the St. Madonna and hll. Sebastian and Florian are shown.
