Unterbergern is a village and cadastral municipality in the municipality of Bergern in the Dunkelsteinerwald in Lower Austria.

geography

Unterbergern is the main town of the municipality and is located east of Oberbergern on the L109 state road leading to Mautern . On January 1, 2020, the village had 533 inhabitants. In the Franziszeischen cadastre from 1821 Unterbergern is recorded as a cluster village with numerous farmsteads.

Parish church hl. Johannes Nepomuk

The parish church of St. Johannes Nepomuk is a simple Josephine hall church in the center of the village, which was built as a chapel in 1766 and enlarged by Johann Schwerdtfeger from 1784 to 1785 after the parish was raised. 1868, the tower was a sound floor increased and got a new spire .
