Hohenroda Castle, since 1988 town hall of the Hohenroda community

Oberbreitzbach is a district of the municipality of Hohenroda in the Hersfeld-Rotenburg district in East Hesse . The so-called castle is the seat of the municipal administration.

The place is in the Landecker Amt in the Rhön . Oberbreitzbach is a recognized resort. State road 3173 runs through the village .

The castle is the manor house of the former Hohenroda estate . The building with its park and the outbuildings was built at the beginning of the 20th century.

There is a Protestant church and the Hohenroda hotel park in the village .

The municipality of Oberbreitzbach originally belonged to the district of Hünfeld . On July 1, 1970, it was incorporated into Mansbach on a voluntary basis as part of the regional reform in Hesse . With this she came on February 1, 1971 to the new community Hohenroda ( district of Hersfeld ).
