The Obere Wublitz nature reserve is located in the area of ​​the independent Brandenburg state capital Potsdam .

The area with the identification number 1156 was placed under nature protection by ordinance of March 17, 1986 . The approximately 100 hectare nature reserve extends south-east of Uetz , an inhabited part of the district of Uetz-Paaren of Potsdam, and west of Marquardt , a district of Potsdam, along the Wublitz , a right tributary of the Havel . The A 10 runs along the north-western edge of the area , the B 273 and the L 92 state road run to the east. The approximately 200-hectare Schläniztsee extends to the south-east and the Sacrow-Paretzer Canal flows along the southern edge .
