Obergeislbach is a part of the municipality of Lengdorf in the district of Erding in Upper Bavaria .
geography
The church village is located two kilometers northwest of Lengdorf. The Geislbach flows past the southern edge of the village and flows five kilometers southeast into the Isen .
history
Since the Bavarian parishes were founded in the early 19th century, Obergeislbach has been part of the Matzbach parish . On May 1st, 1978 this was dissolved in the course of the municipal reform, Obergeislbach came to the municipality of Lengdorf.
Architectural monuments
The branch church of St. John the Baptist is a Romanesque hall building with a retracted rectangular choir : the west tower with onion dome mostly dates from the 12th / 13th. Century and was increased in the late Gothic period. The baroque tower superstructure was added around 1700.
A barn from the middle of the 19th century, a post construction with plank walls, a gable roof and a two-part bundwerkzone is also under monument protection .
