Obermaubach-Schlagstein is a village and a district of the municipality of Kreuzau in the Düren district in North Rhine-Westphalia . Until 1969 Obermaubach-Schlagstein was a municipality in the old district of Düren .
geography
Obermaubach-Schlagstein consists of the two places Obermaubach and Schlagstein , which are located in the southwest of the municipality of Kreuzau. Obermaubach lies on the western bank of the Rur and on the Obermaubach reservoir , while Schlagstein lies one kilometer downstream on the eastern bank of the Rur. The former municipality of Obermaubach-Schlagstein had an area of 2.39 km².
history
Since the 19th century Obermaubach-Schlagstein was a rural community in the mayor's office of Nideggen (from 1928 Amt Nideggen ) in the district of Düren. On January 1, 1972, the municipality was incorporated into the municipality of Kreuzau by the Aachen law .
