Location of Oberohrn in Pfedelbach
|
Since January 1, 1971, Oberohrn has been a district of the municipality of Pfedelbach in Hohenlohekreis ( Heilbronn-Franconia region ) in northeast Baden-Württemberg .
Geographical location
Oberohrn is located in the Ohrntal , 2 km east of Pfedelbach on the state road L 1049. Oberohrn consists of the districts of Oberohrn itself, Lerchen, Stegmühle and Tannhof.
history
Oberohrn was first mentioned in 1235 in connection with a noble family. Two castles were once built here. One as a hilltop castle and the other as a water house on the Ohrn. The moated castle was a Regensburg fiefdom. A castle-like complex was probably built before the 12th century. The Stegmühle is probably identical to the Hohenstegen mentioned in 1037 in the Öhringer foundation letter . The Grabertsmühle was first mentioned in a document in 1371. The Tannhof is called Hof zur Tannen in 1574 . Sonnenberg, which is still mentioned as Feldlehen in 1684 and was probably located near the Stegmühle (there is a district with this name), has gone. Before 1824 there was the Oberohrn Schultheisserei with Lerchenhof and Tannhof, to which the Stegmühle was added in 1894. The Stegmühle belonged to Hohenlohe-Pfedelbach until 1705, then to Untersölbach, Michelbach and Eckartsweiler. In 1938 Oberohrn came to the district of Öhringen and lost its independence on January 1, 1971 when it was incorporated into Pfedelbach. The name form Oberohrn has only been attested since 1444.
coat of arms
The former municipal coat of arms of Oberohrn shows a silver donkey head in red, a six-spoke silver wheel between the ears. The wheel is taken from the Mainz coat of arms. It is intended to commemorate the fief of the Archbishopric of Mainz over Oberohrn Castle. The donkey head with the long ears already featured the Lords of Oren (Ohrn) in their coat of arms. This gender is attested between 1235 and 1424. It emerged from the ministerial of the Hochstift Regensburg. The coat of arms was officially handed over in 1955.
Local council
The village of Oberohrn has a local council with a total of six members. Mayor is Klaus Meißner.
Buildings
The Upper German-Raetian Limes runs between Oberohrn and Pfedelbach. Presumably the guard posts (towers) 9/37 (at Tannhof), 9/38, 9/39, 9/40 and 9/41 were on the Oberohrner markings.
The church was originally a branch of the collegiate church in Öhringen . After the Reformation , it was allocated to the newly founded Pfedelbach parish in 1567. The old church, consecrated to St. Christopher , had to be completely demolished in 1688 due to its dilapidation. It was replaced by a new one called Saint Salvador Mundi. Older parts were used in the construction. The church has a flat ceiling with a west gallery, a Gothic Madonna (around 1400) and an altarpiece from 1470.
The former school and town hall from 1840 was completely renovated in 2010 and is now used as a clubhouse, for family celebrations and by the volunteer fire department. There is an apartment on the upper floor.
