Supreme Motorcycle Sports Commission
The Supreme Motorcycle Sports Commission ( OMK ) had sports sovereignty for motorcycle sports in the Federal Republic of Germany. The commission was founded in 1947 as the Supreme Motorsport Commission and renamed in 1949. The organization was a member of the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme .
Since 1998 this function has been performed by the German Motor Sport Association , an association of OMK and ONS .
As the sports authority , the OMK was responsible for
- the announcement of championships
- the issuance of racing licenses
- the approval of sporting events
- the sporting and technical regulations as well as their enforcement under sport law .
