Single releases

Shock , Descent , Resurrection and the Gary Numan - Cover Cars were published between 1998 and 1999 as singles.

reception

Greg Prato wrote on allmusic.com that Fear Factory with Obsolete would once again deliver the "Ministry-meets-Slayer-Sound" for which they are known, but combine this with a reasonable amount of experimentation. This is done, for example, through the use of violins, cellos and violas. Prato awarded four stars out of five for the album.
