Dino Cazares (born September 2, 1966 in El Centro , California , United States ) is a Mexican-American guitarist . He became known through his work for the metal band Fear Factory . Cazares is still active in the bands Asesino and Divine Heresy , before he was also part of Brujeria and Nailbomb .

Career

Before joining Fear Factory, Cazares played in the grindcore band Excruciating Terror . In addition to his work at Fear Factory from 1990, he was part of the Mexican side project Brujeria , which consisted of musicians from Carcass , Faith No More , Fear Factory and Napalm Death . From 1994 he worked as a studio musician for the short-term project Nailbomb and also played at the band's only concert.

In 2005, Cazares was elected by Monte Connor as one of the team captains of the Roadrunner United project for the 25th anniversary of Roadrunner Records .

After separating from Fear Factory in 2002, Cazares formed the band Asesino. In 2006, Divine Heresy followed, with Cazares released the debut album Bleed the Fifth in 2007. In 2009, Cazarez returned to Fear Factory.

Cazares plays seven-string and eight-string Ibanez guitars at Fear Factory . During his time with Fear Factory, he was endorser for Line 6 -Flextone amplifier and the POD preamplifier, and later he was also an endorser for Toneblaster amplifier Ibanez.
