Offene Wunde deutscher Film is an essayistic documentary by Dominik Graf and Johannes F. Sievert , completed in 2017 , and the continuation of the documentary Verfluchte Liebe deutscher Film , which was released a year earlier . The second part again illuminates the history of German genre film in cinema and television, this time from the 1960s.

Synopsis

After their film essay Verfluchte Liebe deutscher Film , Dominik Graf and Johannes F. Sievert take another look at extraordinary and unusual German film and television productions, at films that were made outside the auteur cinema by Fassbinder , Wenders and others - at science fiction films , Exploitation and action films such as Downward with Götz George . The documentary tries to find out why German cinema nowadays rarely produces bold genre films.
