Johannes F. Sievert (* Bielefeld ) is a German film director , film producer and screenwriter .

education

After graduating from the Ratsgymnasium Bielefeld , Johannes F. Sievert studied film and television studies at the universities of Bochum, Cologne, Bielefeld and Berlin . In addition, he was managing director of his parents' shoe retailer and shot his first short film Nocturne as part of further training at the Kaskeline Film Academy . He then worked in various positions for various television and cinema productions, including for Peter Bogdanovich , Robert Schwentke , Bob Rafelson and Max Färberböck . From 2002 to 2005 he studied at the International Film School Cologne (ifs) at Dominik Graf film directing .

In 2000 Sievert published his master's thesis as the book Theoretical and Film Analytical Aspects in Ridley Scott's Blade Runner .

In 2005 he shot his graduation short film KomA at the ifs , which is about a young person's rampage and screened at many renowned film festivals in Germany and abroad, such as the Max Ophüls Film Festival and the 11th International Student Film Festival Tel Aviv.

In 2008/2009 he shot the documentary Young Dogs , which accompanies ten young inmates from the Siegburg JVA who have been sentenced to several years in prison while they rehearse a play. In 2009 he shot the making-of Gangsta Fiction for the mini-series In the Face of Crime .

In 2010 he was the director of the episode Sinan G. of the episode film Zeche is nich - Seven Views of the Ruhr Area 2010 . In 2011 he founded Augustin Film KG and produced a. a. the making-of for the movie The Beloved Sisters by Dominik Graf .

In 2015 he shot his debut feature film with Rewind - The Second Chance , for which he also wrote the screenplay and which premiered at the international Hof Film Festival in 2017. The film was then shown at the festival in Biberach, Lünen, Mainz and Wiesbaden and will be released in cinemas in early May 2018.

In 2015, the shooting of the documentary Verfluchte Liebe deutscher Film , staged together with Dominik Graf and produced by Augustin Film KG, began , which premiered at the 2016 Berlinale. The film was then shown in Helsinki, Shanghai, at the Festival del Film Locarno and at many other festivals and was nominated by the Federal Association of Directors for best director in documentary film in 2016.
