Oktay Pop (born March 30, 1988 in İzmit ) is a Turkish football player who plays for Hatayspor .

Career

Oktay Pop began with club football in the youth department of Kocaelispor and rose here in the summer of 2005 with a professional contract in the professional squad. He made his debut in a second division game on November 6, 2005 against Mardinspor . He played sporadically for the professional team for two and a half years and was more of a substitute player. For the second half of the 2007/08 season he played on loan from third division club Lüleburgazspor .

For the 2008/09 season he moved to the third division Mardinspor and played here two seasons consistently as a regular.

For the 2010/11 season he then moved to Elazığspor and celebrated with this club at the end of the season the championship of the TFF 2nd Lig and thus the direct promotion to the TFF 1st Lig . In the 2011/12 season, too, he immediately established himself as a top performer on his team. On the penultimate matchday, they made the safe promotion to the Süper Lig .

For the 2012/13 season he moved on loan to second division TKİ Tavşanlı Linyitspor . After the loan period expired, he returned to Elazığspor. However, he was no longer used here due to an injury.

In the 2013/14 winter break, he signed with Denizlispor until the end of the season . When he could not meet the requirements after six short appearances, he moved back to his former club Elazığspor after the season. Due to outstanding salaries from his first time at Elazığspor, he left the club immediately. Pop then signed with third division Hatayspor .
