Olav Hackstein
Olav Hackstein (born October 14, 1962 in Krefeld ) is a German Indo-Europeanist .
Life
After graduating as Dr. phil. In 1993 at the University of Freiburg im Breisgau and his habilitation in 1999 at the University of Halle, he held positions in historical and Indo-European linguistics at the University of Pennsylvania (guest lecturer, 1989) and the University of Halle- Wittenberg (1994 assistant professor, 1999 associate professor). Since 2008 he has been a full professor at the Chair for Historical and Indo-European Linguistics at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . In 2016 he was visiting professor (directeur d'études invité) at the École pratique des hautes études .
His research interests are comparative Indo-European and general linguistics, particularly the historical morphology and syntax of the ancient Indo-European languages.
