Ole Klemetsen (born August 30, 1971 in Stavanger ) is a former Norwegian boxer .
Boxing career
Ole Klemetsen won a bronze medal at the 1990 World Cup in India among the amateurs after defeating Bert Schenk and being eliminated in the semifinals against Juan Carlos Lemus . He also won a bronze medal at the 1991 European Championships in Sweden . After victories against Robin Reid and Dragan Tomašević, he lost in the semifinals to Torsten Schmitz . He won another bronze medal at the 1991 World Championships in Australia when he moved into the semifinals against Raúl Márquez and Raymond Downey and was defeated there by Israjel Hakobkochjan .
In 1992 he was Northern European Champion and started at the 1992 Olympic Games in Spain . There he won against Jorge Porley and Noureddine Meziane before failing in the quarterfinals to Robin Reid.
The 1.87 m tall normal boom boxed with the professionals from October 1992 to June 2001 and won 45 of 51 fights, 36 of them prematurely. In the light heavyweight division he won the WBC international title in February 1996 and the EBU European title in October 1997 . In May 1998, he boxed for the IBF World Championship, but lost on points to Reggie Johnson . In the fight for the IBA title, he defeated Thulani Malinga in January 2000 . In another EBU fight he lost to Clinton Woods in April 2000 .
