Oleg Snetkov ( Russian Олег Снетков ; * 1974 in Leningrad ) is a German conductor of Russian origin .

Life

Oleg Snetkov began playing the violin at the age of six , later switching to the viola .

In 1992 he moved to Germany and continued his studies at the Hamburg University of Music and Theater . He graduated from Marius Nichiteanu's viola class in 2001.

During his studies he worked in the orchestra of the Lübeck City Theater and later with the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra . He performed with the chamber ensembles of the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival and the musicians Frans Helmerson , Daniel Hope and Alexander Melnikov . He took part in master classes with Juri Baschmet and performed as a soloist with orchestras from Germany, Finland and Russia.

At the same time he took conducting lessons from Ilya Musin , Jorma Panula , Woldemar Nelsson , and then continued his studies at the University of Music in Bucharest ( Romania ) with Dumitru Goia, where he his postgraduate in 2005 in the class of opera - and symphony conducting graduated. He was the conductor of the Dortmund International Orchestra and later led the orchestra of the New Philharmonic Hamburg . He also worked with the Metropolitan Choir Pusan ( South Korea ), the Bodø Sinfonietta ( Norway ), the Tapiola Sinfonietta ( Finland ) and the Theater der Staat Bodø (Norway). He also took part in the Saint Petersburg Music Festival at the Hermitage (Saint Petersburg) and in concerts in the Tchaikovsky Museum in Klin (Russia).
