Oleksandr Porozhnyuk

Oleksandr Mykolajowytsch Poroschnjuk ( Ukrainian Олександр Миколайович Порожнюк , Russian Александр Николаевич Порожнюк Alexander Nikolayevich Poroschnjuk * 1947 in the Georgian SSR ) is a Ukrainian sculptor .

Life

In 1961 Porozhnjuk came to Ukraine with his parents . From 1965–1970 he studied at the Lviv Institute for Applied and Decorative Art with Dmitri Petrovich Krwawitsch . Porozhnyuk has lived and worked in Donetsk since 1970 .

Porozhnyuk created the monument to the liberators of Donbass in the Komsomol Park (1984 with the sculptor Yuri Ivanovich Baldin , the architects Vladimir Petrovich Kishkan and Mikhail Jakowlewitsch Ksenewitsch and the engineer Yefim Leonidowitsch Raigorodezki) in Donetsk , the monument to the Soviet intervention during the Soviet Union Afghanistan killed the Donetsk Oblast in Komsomol Park (1996 with the architect JM Temkin), the monument to the employees of the organs of the Interior Ministry (1998 with the architect JP Oleinik), the Themis - statue in Oblastschiedsgericht (1999), the memorial to the Victims of the Stalin cleansing in the mass graves on the Rukentschow field (2005 with the architect Wladimir Butschek), the graphic cycle on the Holocaust (2007), the Alexander Yaroslav Newski - equestrian statue at the Yevropeiski administrative center (2010), the statue of Jesus in front of the Roman Catholic Josefskirche (2011) and portrait sculptures by Alexander Sergejewitsch Pushkin , Ta ras Shevchenko , Nikolai Wassiljewitsch Gogol , Marina Ivanovna Zwetajewa , Gabriel García Márquez , Sergei Sergejewitsch Prokofiev , Ludwig van Beethoven , Vladimir Semjonowitsch Vysotsky and others. Porozhnyuk's project for a monument to Anatoly Solovyanenko was not approved and Alexander Mitrofanovich Skorych was commissioned instead . In the competition for a monument to Sergei Alexandrowitsch Jessenin he received third prize (2011–2012).
