Olena Hryhorivna Schupina ( Ukrainian Олена Григорівна Жупіна , born August 23, 1973 in Zaporizhia ) is a former Ukrainian water diver . She jumped in both artificial and high diving as well as in 3 m and 10 m synchronized jumping. She took part in three Olympic Games and won a bronze medal, at the 1998 World Cup she was also double world champion.

Schupina first took part in the Olympic Games in Atlanta in 1996 . She was fifth on the 3-meter board and sixth on the 10-meter tower. In 2000 in Sydney she was again sixth from the tower and won the bronze medal with Hanna Sorokina in the 3 m synchronized jumping. The duo won the first Ukrainian Olympic medal in diving. In 2004 in Athens she only competed in diving and landed in ninth place. Schupina thus reached the finals in each of her Olympic competitions.

Schupina celebrated her greatest success at the swimming world championships in 1998 . In Perth she won the gold medal from the 10-meter tower both in singles and with Switlana Serbina in synchronized jumping . In 2001 in Fukuoka she just barely missed a medal as fourth in the 10 m tower and in the 3 m synchronized jumping. In the 10 m synchronized jumping she was eighth. In 2003 in Barcelona she again reached fourth place on the 10 m tower, ninth place on the 3 m board and seventh place in the 10 m synchronized jumping.

Schupina was also successful at the European Swimming Championships . She won her first medal with bronze from the tower in 1993 in Sheffield . She experienced the most successful European Championship in 1999 in Istanbul . She won the gold medal in the individual from the 10 m tower and with Sorokina in the 3 m synchronized jumping. In 2000 in Helsinki , Shupina won three medals. She won bronze from the tower and with Sorokina in the 3 m synchronized jumping and silver with Olha Leonowa in the 10 m synchronized jumping. In 2002 in Berlin , Schupina was able to defend her silver medal in the 10 m synchronized jumping with Leonova. Schupina won the last medal of her career with silver from the tower at the 2004 European Championships in Madrid .

Shupina ended her active career after the 2004 Olympic Games.
