Oliver Dieckmann

Oliver Dieckmann (born December 17, 1968 ) is a German film producer , film director and dramaturge .

biography

Dieckmann, who grew up in Belgium, Germany, Brazil and the USA, studied economics at Wesleyan University in Middletown in the USA as well as at the Free University of Berlin before studying production and media economics at the HFF Munich . During this time he was already working as a dramaturge for all- media film and television production and as an editor for Kirch New Media. After Dieckmann had finished his studies with a diploma in 2002, he was one of the developers of the Internet portal shorts-welcome for Kirch New Media. The project was nominated for the Grimme Online Award .

In 2002 Dieckmann began working as a dramaturge and producer for Bavaria Film and TV Production, and he also works as a director. As a dramaturge, he was involved in the elaborate three-part series Der Wunschbaum, based on a novel by Sandra Paretti , in 2004 . In 2005 he co-wrote the script for the film drama A completely normal couple with Floriane Daniel and Steffen Wink in the leading roles. Dieckmann wrote the script and directed the short film Beloved Everyday Life from 2005. The cast list included Jan-Gregor Kremp , Michael Mendl , Carolin Fink and Suzanne von Borsody . Dieckmann received the Audience Award in the “Best Short Film” category for his work. In 2006 he produced nine episodes of the television series Eine Liebe am Gardasee , in which a young woman, played by Christina Beyerhaus , is looking for her roots. Dieckmann made his feature film debut in 2008 with the movie Pizza and Marmelade , in which, according to his own statements, he processed experiences from his student days. The tragic comedy is about an architect who feels forced to hire himself out as a pizza maker. Max von Thun took on the leading role . The film was nominated for the German Film Award at the Munich Film Festival . In the following year Dieckmann shot the fairy tale film Sleeping Beauty with Lotte Flack in the title role.

Dieckmann's second film, the Christmas family comedy When Santa Claus fell from the sky , was released in German cinemas at the end of November 2011. The film was funded by the Filmförderungsanstalt with 350,000 euros. Dieckmann received the People's Choice Award for this. The film was rated “valuable” by the FBW . In the Falk lawyer series, which he produced in 2018 , Dieckmann worked with Fritz Karl , who played the title role

Dieckmann is married and a father.
