Oliver Ringelhahn

Oliver Ringelhahn (* 1969 in Tulln an der Donau ) is an Austrian opera , operetta, lieder and oratorio singer ( tenor ).

Life

Ringelhahn spent his childhood and youth in Großweikersdorf . In Altenburg many years he was a member of the Altenburger Boys Choir under the direction of Leopold Friedl. He studied solo singing at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna , with Franz Lukasovsky and Gerhard Kahry , among others .

He then became a member of the ensemble of the Landestheater Linz , Gärtnerplatztheater Munich , the Volksoper Vienna and the Saxon State Opera in Dresden.

Ringelhahn's international career began during this time. Above all he sang the great tenor roles of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart such as Pedrillo and Don Polidoro , as well as Matteo from Arabella , Brighella in Ariadne auf Naxos and Valzacchi in Rosenkavalier in operas by Richard Strauss . He has appeared in Hamburg, Monte Carlo, Amsterdam, Geneva, Genoa, Vienna, Dresden, Marseille, Berlin, Munich, Tokyo, Sao Paulo, at the Salzburg Festival , at the Lucerne Festival and at the International Festival Macau .

He also sang the role of Count Balduin Zedlau in the operetta Wiener Blut by Johann Strauss at the Langenlois Castle Festival in August 2013 and is a permanent guest at the Theater an der Wien .

Oliver Ringelhahn also works as a concert singer. His repertoire includes songs by Benjamin Britten , Hugo Wolf , Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart , Franz Schubert and Bach , among others .
