Franz Lukasovsky

Franz Lukasovsky (born November 8, 1940 in Vienna ) is an Austrian opera singer ( tenor ) and music teacher .

Life

Lukasovsky, who was a member of the Vienna Boys' Choir from 1948 to 1954, began his musical education at the age of 6 . In 1958 he laid the Federal Realgymnasium Vienna VIII, Albertgasse the Matura and began studies at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts and at the University of Vienna in the fields of study German literature , history and musicology .

In 1962 he passed the teaching examination for music lessons at grammar schools, in 1964 he passed the state examination with the ability to teach solo singing and in 1967 he received the diploma for "solo singing" and graduated with distinction in "Lied und Oratorium". In the same year he accepted a teaching position for voice training at the Academy for Music and Performing Arts in Graz and has since participated in concerts with ancient, classical, romantic and contemporary music.

Opera debuts in Siena and Vienna followed in 1973 before it a concert tournee with Bach - Passions after Tokyo and Osaka led. He made his operatic debut in Germany when he accepted an annual engagement at the Musiktheater im Revier in Gelsenkirchen in the 1974/75 season . Since then he has been performing guest contracts for stage and concert in Germany, Italy, Switzerland and Austria.

In 1976 he was appointed head of a class for solo singing at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, and in 1980 he was appointed associate professor.

His appointment as a full professor at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna took place in 1984. From 1986 to 1991 he was deputy head of department and chairman of the study commission of the department for solo singing and since 1994 deputy head of department again. In 1998 he became department head before he was appointed head of the institute and a member of the Senate of the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna in 2002.

In 2006 Lukasovsky was invited to Bangkok together with the pianist István Bonyhádi to create a recital on the occasion of the upcoming sixtieth anniversary of the reign of King Bhumibol .

Lukasovsky leads guest and master classes in China, Finland, Italy, Japan, Korea, the Netherlands, Thailand, the Czech Republic, Vietnam and Austria and is a founding member of the Association of Austrian Singing Pedagogues 2000 (today: EVTA-Austria), of which he was first president from 2000 to 2008 was.
