Oliver Zwarg (* 1971 in Bergisch Gladbach , Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis , North Rhine-Westphalia ) is a German concert and opera singer ( bass baritone ) and vocal teacher.

Life

After graduating from high school in Syke ( Lower Saxony ) in 1991 , Zwarg began studying history, school music (main subjects: piano, choral conducting and music history) and education at the University of Bremen . At the same time he received private singing and speaking training from Marianne Spiecker and Heribert Langosz . In 1996 he went on to study with Klaus Nagora and Kathrin Prick at the Stuttgart Opera School with singing lessons with Julia Hamari and the répétiteur Carl Davis at the Stuttgart Music Academy . In 1997 an additional study in the song class of Konrad Richter took place . In 1999 Zwarg completed his university studies in Stuttgart with distinction.

Act

As an opera singer

Zwarg made his stage debut in 1997 at the Ludwigsburg Castle Festival. After that, he had permanent engagements at the Hamburg State Opera (1999) and the Hanover State Opera (2001). Here he sang roles such as Gianni Schicchi, Schaunard, Fra Melitone, Ramphis, Monterone, Papageno, Figaro, Leporello, Kecal, Bartolo in "Barbiere von Sevilla", Frank in "Die Fledermaus" and Mirko Zeta in "Wozzeck".
