Hessian State Theater, Great House
The opera line-ups of the Hessian State Theater Wiesbaden from 2014 onwards list all participants in the opera performances at the Hessian State Theater in Wiesbaden that took place or were officially announced during the directorship of Uwe Eric Laufenberg .
background
Even before he took up the post of Artistic Director of the Hessian State Theater Wiesbaden in August 2014, the new Artistic Director was faced with severe criticism from conservative audiences because he announced that he would replace some thirty-year-old productions - such as Hansel and Gretel , La traviata and La Bohème - with new productions want. Laufenberg's program includes the classical repertoire of operas and operettas, supplemented by bulky works from the 20th century, such as Zimmermann's The Soldiers , or ambitious projects for a house of this size, such as the entire Wagner'schen Ring des Nibelungen within one season. The Wiesbadener Ring was a revision of Laufenberg's staging of the tetralogy at the Musiktheater Linz a few years earlier. He gave strong approval from the public and the press.
Laufenberg chose Die Frau ohne Schatten by Hugo von Hofmannsthal and Richard Strauss as the opening premiere of his directorship . His production gained approval from the public and the press. The premiere of La Bohème - taken over from Augsburg - received mixed reviews, but overall "warm to enthusiastic approval". The resumption of Wagner's Lohengrin , with Marco Jentzsch and Klaus Florian Vogt alternating in the title role, the new production of Handel's Alcina , staged by Ingo Kerkhof and conducted by Konrad Junghänel , and the musical Evita were also answered with great applause .
The cast lists for the years from 2014 will be gradually completed.
