Klaus Florian Vogt (born April 12, 1970 in Heide , Holstein ) is a German opera singer ( youthful heroic tenor ) who is particularly successful as Lohengrin .

Life

Klaus Florian Vogt initially studied horn and, after graduating from 1988–1997, worked as horn player in the Hamburg Philharmonic State Orchestra . In the meantime he studied singing at the Musikhochschule Lübeck and in 1997 got an engagement at the Landestheater Flensburg .

In 1998 Vogt moved to the Dresden Semperoper , where he was supported by the then General Music Director Giuseppe Sinopoli . At first he was a lyric tenor, but expanded his repertoire via Tamino in Mozart's Magic Flute to include more dramatic roles such as Hans in Bedřich Smetana's Bartered Bride and Matteo in Richard Strauss ' Arabella .

A breakthrough for Vogt was his role debut as Lohengrin at the Erfurt Theater in 2002. With this role he has since made guest appearances all over the world and has since expanded his repertoire to include other roles in the youthful hero tenor field, such as the Stolzing in Richard Wagner's Mastersingers of Nuremberg and the Parsifal .

Vogt has been working as a freelance artist since 2003. In 2007 the singer made his debut as Stolzing at the Bayreuth Festival .

Since 2011 he has been an exclusive artist at Sony Classical. In January 2012 his debut CD Helden was released with arias by Wagner, Mozart, Weber and Korngold .

Klaus Florian Vogt lives with his wife and four sons in Dithmarschen in Schleswig-Holstein.
