Olivia Kate Cooke (born December 27, 1993 in Manchester , England ) is a British actress . She was best known for the role of Emma Decody in the American television series Bates Motel .

Life

Cooke grew up in Oldham, in the Greater Manchester area. After the divorce of her parents, a retired police officer and a sales representative, she and her younger sister Eleanor grew up with her mother.

Cooke did ballet and gymnastics at a young age and began acting outside of school at the age of eight. She has appeared as a television and film actress since 2012.

Shortly after her first major acting role in The Quiet Ones (2014), she looked for an American agency, which procured her the role of Emma Decody alongside her British compatriot Freddie Highmore in the series Bates Motel .

In 2015, she was in the film Me and Earl and the Girl (Original title: Me and Earl and the Dying Girl ) to see. In the British television series Vanity Fair , an adaptation of the novel of the same name by William Makepeace Thackeray , Cooke plays the leading role as the orphan Becky Sharpe, who dreams of social advancement through marriage.

Private

She has been in a relationship with Christopher Abbott since 2016 .
