1 When the doorman is your best man When the Doorman Is Your Main Man John Carney John Carney 31 minutes Adaptation of a Modern Love column from 2015.
An intelligent and pretty young scientist lives alone and far away from her family in a typical single apartment in the middle of New York. Like many houses of this type in the big city, yours also has a doorman who receives you evening after evening with watchful eyes and so far either chases away any of your admirers with the consistency left over from military times or at least urgently warns his young protégé about the new acquaintance . Even if she may not always implement his advice - his knowledge of human nature always proves to be infallible and apparently beyond any doubt. Shortly after another short relationship (which the porter immediately recognized as unusable) breaks down, she is shocked to discover that she is pregnant and in the months and years that follow is allowed to experience how profound and all-embracing her porter's paternal, loving protective instinct really is.

"Our friendship was an everyday and unsung friendship between single women living in New York and the porters who take care of them and act as bouncers, bodyguards, confidants and father figures."

2 When Cupid is a curious journalist When Cupid Is a Prying Journalist John Carney John Carney 31 minutes -

“My personal life was a different story. There is no hiding in love: you have to let someone know who you are, but from one moment to the next I myself had no idea who I was. "

4th Stay tuned to keep the game alive Rallying to Keep the Game Alive Sharon Horgan Sharon Horgan 29 minutes -
As their children grow up, a frustrated long-time married couple is desperately looking for old and new similarities, for support and a new bloom to save their partnership. Starting from a mutual couple therapy, they gradually develop a new basis for their relationship.

6th He looked like Dad, but it was just dinner, wasn't it? So He Looked Like Dad. It Was Just Dinner, Right? Emmy Rossum Audrey Wells 30 minutes -
Maddy, who has just come of age, has been pretty sure since her father's death ten years earlier that she didn't need a father figure in her life - until she hears her best friend's father saying all the things about her father on her 21st birthday can hear. And then she meets a man at her new job who, like her father once called her by her full name, "Madeline", who looks, smells and speaks and listens to classical music as she remembers it from her father. However, when her obvious interest in him leads to dinner in his apartment, the boundaries between age and relationship, between caring, familial and erotic love, blur for a moment. But with each meeting the emotions grow and with them the misunderstandings about the basis of their relationship.

“He was very handsome. He wore gray turtlenecks and smelled of mint taffeta shave and old books. He was 55 and recently divorced for the second time. He was my father. He wasn't really my father. "
