The women's double competition in badminton at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro was held from August 11th to 18th, 2016 in “Pavilion 4” of the Riocentro . 32 athletes took part.

4 double pairings were set, which were distributed to the four groups. In the groups, each double played against each other, the group winner and the group runner-up qualified for the next round, which was played in the knockout system , in which the winners reached the next round. The losers in the semifinals then played the bronze medal.
