The competition in the 20-km walk Men at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo will be on August 6 at 16:00 local time (9:00 GMT discharged). The route was originally supposed to lead through the Imperial Palace Garden . After several athletes had health problems at the 2019 World Athletics Championships in Doha due to the climatic conditions, the IOC announced in October 2019 that it would move the marathons and competitions in the cooler Sapporo to Hokkaidō at the games . The new venue is now Ōdōri Park .
