Iceland participated in the 1976 Winter Olympic Games in the Austrian Innsbruck with a delegation of six athletes, four men and two women, in part.
Since 1948 it was the seventh participation of Iceland in the Olympic Winter Games .
Flag bearer
Alpine ski racer Árni Óðinsson carried the flag of Iceland during the opening ceremony in the Bergisel Stadium .
