Australia took part in the 1976 Winter Olympic Games in the Austrian Innsbruck with a delegation of eight athletes, five men and three women, in part.

It was Australia's eighth participation in the Winter Olympics since 1936 .

Flag bearer

The speed skater Colin Coates carried the flag of Australia during the opening ceremony in the Bergisel Stadium .
