Australia took part in the 1932 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles , USA . Because of the global economic crisis , only twelve athletes could take part in the games.

One innovation, however, was that the New Zealand actress Nola Luxford reported every day in a one-hour radio report in Australia and New Zealand about the Olympic Games.
